Vortex 15×56 Diamondback HD Binocular

Description

Built for budget-conscious western big game hunters, the Vortex 15×56 Diamondback HD Binocular yields a 230-foot field of view at 1000 yards (4.4-degree actual). The 3.7mm exit pupil and 15.6mm eye relief provide crisp distant resolution. At 34.8 ounces with 15x magnification, handholding produces heavy vibrations, making a tripod adapter strictly mandatory.

High-definition extra-low dispersion (HD) objective lenses feed phase-corrected BaK-4 roof prisms coated in dielectric reflective layers and fully multi-coated surfaces. The rubber-armored chassis measures 7.1 by 5.8 inches at 34.8 oz (987 g). Argon purged and O-ring sealed against internal fogging, it features a central focus wheel tracking to 14 feet (4.27 m), a right-eye diopter adjuster, twist-up eyecups, and front tripod adapter threading.

Key Features of Vortex 15×56 Diamondback HD Binocular

A specialized high-power observation binocular designed for open-country western hunters who spend entire days glassing distant sagebrush draws. The 56mm objective lenses pull in critical light, while the 15x magnification reveals fine antler points without packing a heavy spotting scope.

• High-power 15x magnification paired with 56mm objective lenses yielding a 3.7mm exit pupil
• Phase-corrected BaK-4 roof prisms treated with dielectric mirror coatings
• HD extra-low dispersion optical glass elements reducing chromatic aberration
• 230 ft field of view at 1000 yd (4.4-degree actual angle)
• 15.6mm eye relief with multi-stop twist-up rubber eyecups
• 14-foot close focus distance suited for distance observation platforms
• Argon gas purged and O-ring sealed waterproof housing (34.8 oz)
• Threaded front 1/4-20 socket with included tripod adapter for stable mounting

HD Glass Performance & Low-Light Optics

HD objective lenses eliminate secondary spectrum chromatic fringing, keeping antler tines and horizon rock contours sharp against bright skies. Dielectric prism coatings reflect over 99 percent of internal light, keeping shadow details legible during early dawn and late dusk hours when smaller 42mm optics fail.

Chassis Ergonomics & Tripod Stabilization

At 34.8 ounces with 15x power, handheld viewing reveals heartbeat tremors; securing the optic to a rigid tripod head yields vibration-free resolution. The central focus wheel operates with smooth mechanical drag, while textured rubber armor provides a secure grip in cold, wet field conditions.

• Threaded front socket supports direct tripod adapter mounting for vibration-free glassing
• Argon gas purging prevents internal lens fogging during freezing mountain storms
• ArmorTek scratch-resistant exterior coatings protect outer lenses from oil, dirt, and abrasion
