Description
Delivering color-pure lunar rilles, the Bresser Messier AC 90/1200 Refractor OTA is the bare optical tube behind this catalog’s f/13.3 long-focus 90mm line, the same optics found on the EXOS-1, EXOS-2, and EXOS-2 GoTo versions elsewhere in this catalog. This version ships with no mount.
At 3.5kg, this tube pairs with most mounts already rated for a similar-aperture long-focus refractor — check your existing mount’s capacity before ordering, since this focal length benefits from steady tracking more than a shorter tube would. The universal Vixen-style dovetail bar fits most existing long-focus-rated mounts without needing a specialized adapter or bracket.
Key Features of Bresser Messier AC 90/1200 Refractor OTA
A 90mm achromatic objective at f/13.3 resolves down to 1.28 arcseconds, reaching a limiting magnitude of 11.6 for genuinely color-pure planetary detail.
- 90mm aperture at f/13.3 delivers color-pure lunar and planetary detail
- 2.5-inch Hexafoc heavy-duty focuser holds eyepieces steady at high power
- Universal Vixen-style dovetail fits most existing long-focus-rated mounts
- Integrated piggyback camera mount lets this tube ride alongside a second scope
- 6×30 optical finder scope speeds up target acquisition before switching eyepieces
- Magnification range from 13x to 180x reaches genuine planetary detail
- Long-focus design keeps chromatic aberration minimal at high magnification
What Sets the AR-90L/1200 OTA Apart
Every mounted version of this same 90mm tube (EXOS-1, EXOS-2, and EXOS-2 GoTo) shares this optical formula — this OTA-only version suits buyers who already own a mount suited to this focal length’s tracking demands.
Applications & Use Cases
Built as a standalone long-focus optical tube, this telescope suits sharp planetary tracking and high-contrast lunar inspection for an observer with a compatible mount already on hand.
- Observers who already own a mount and want this specific long-focus tube
- Anyone building a dedicated planetary tube alongside an existing setup
- Buyers prioritizing color-pure detail over the price of a bundled mount
Bresser Warranty & Support
The AR-90L/1200 OTA carries a 2-Year Factory Warranty covering manufacturing defects, handled directly through Bresser’s support channel.
