Canon 15×50 IS All-Weather Image Stabilized Binoculars

Description

Canceling severe hand tremors with active Vari-Angle Prism stabilization, the Canon 15×50 IS All-Weather Image Stabilized Binoculars yields a 236.2-foot field of view at 1000 yards (4.5-degree actual). The 3.3mm exit pupil and 15mm eye relief provide crisp distant identification. Weighing 2.6 pounds, the bulky battery-driven chassis relies heavily on active stabilization to combat arm fatigue.

Porro II prisms, ultra-low dispersion (UD) glass elements, and field flattener lenses run Super Spectra multi-coatings alongside a microprocessor-controlled Vari-Angle Prism correcting 0.7 degrees of vibration. Powered by two AA batteries, the water-resistant chassis measures 7.6 by 6 by 3.2 inches at 41.6 oz (1.2 kg). It incorporates a central focus wheel tracking to 19.7 feet (6 m), a -3 to +3 diopter adjuster, and fold-down rubber eyecups.

Key Features of Canon 15×50 IS All-Weather Image Stabilized Binoculars

A high-power observation binocular engineered for boat watchers, raptor counters, and long-range wildlife observers who need fifteen-power magnification without packing a heavy tripod. The active electronic stabilization cancels hand tremors and wind buffeting at the touch of a button.

• High-power 15x magnification paired with 50mm objective lenses producing a 3.3mm exit pupil
• Active Vari-Angle Prism (VAP) optical stabilization canceling handheld tremors
• Ultra-low dispersion (UD) optical elements reducing chromatic aberration
• Porro II prism system with integrated field flattener lenses for edge-to-edge sharpness
• 236.2 ft field of view at 1000 yd (4.5-degree actual angle)
• 15mm eye relief with comfortable fold-down rubber eyecups
• All-weather water-resistant construction built to withstand rain and marine spray
• Powered by two standard AA batteries offering long field runtime

VAP Stabilization & UD Optical Physics

Canon’s internal gyro sensors actuate a liquid-filled Vari-Angle Prism element to counteract low- and high-frequency tremors, locking distant targets in place. UD glass elements curb color fringing along high-contrast edges, and field flattener lenses preserve edge sharpness, though the 3.3mm exit pupil requires ambient light for comfortable observation.

All-Weather Chassis & Button Activation

The rubberized body provides a secure two-handed hold on rolling boats or windy observation decks. The top-mounted stabilizer button engages steadying power instantly, while the central focus wheel turns with smooth mechanical resistance from twenty feet out to infinity.

• Instant push-button stabilizer activation provides steady handheld viewing without finger fatigue
• All-weather rubberized construction protects internal electronics from heavy rain and spray
• Fold-down rubber eyecups allow quick adaptation for observers wearing eyeglasses
