ZEISS 8×25 Terra ED Compact Binoculars (Gray-Black)

Description

Folding down into a dual-hinge pocket format, the ZEISS 8×25 Terra ED Compact Binoculars (Gray-Black) produces a 357-foot field of view at 1000 yards (52-degree apparent). The 3.1mm exit pupil and 16mm eye relief provide crisp daylight resolution. Its compact 25mm front lenses dim quickly in shaded woodland canopy past sunset.

Schott ED glass elements feed phase-corrected Schmidt-Pechan BaK-4 roof prisms coated in hydrophobic ZEISS multi-coatings. The double-hinge chassis is finished in two-tone gray-black rubber armor, measuring 4.5 by 4.4 inches and weighing just 10.9 oz (309 g). Nitrogen filled and water-resistant, it incorporates a central focus wheel tracking down to 5.7 feet (1.74 m), a -3 to +3 diopter adjuster, and twist-up eyecups.

Key Features of ZEISS 8×25 Terra ED Compact Binoculars (Gray-Black)

A pocket-sized eight-power optic crafted for minimalist backpackers, travelers, and event spectators who prioritize packability above all else. The double-hinge bridge folds down into a compact profile, while Schott ED glass preserves center detail on distant subjects.

• 8x magnification with 25mm objective lenses yielding a 3.1mm exit pupil
• Phase-corrected Schmidt-Pechan roof prisms with ZEISS hydrophobic multicoatings
• Schott extra-low dispersion (ED) optical glass elements reducing color halos
• 357 ft field of view at 1000 yd with true eight-power resolving reach
• 16mm eye relief paired with multi-stop twist-up rubber eyecups
• 5.7-foot close focus distance suited for museum and nature observation
• Nitrogen gas purged and sealed chassis sheathed in two-tone gray-black rubber
• Ultra-lightweight 10.9 oz body with dual-hinge folding architecture

Schott ED Optics & Pocket Performance

Schott ED objective glass elements minimize secondary spectrum chromatic fringing, keeping contrast sharp along backlit edges. ZEISS anti-reflective multicoatings maximize photon transmission through the compact 25mm front cells, though the small 3.1mm exit pupil restricts effective observation to bright daylight conditions.

Dual-Hinge Folding & Center Focus Dynamics

The double-hinge layout allows the optical barrels to fold inward under the bridge, slipping effortlessly into a shirt pocket. The central focus wheel operates with smooth mechanical resistance, while the diopter dial on the hinge maintains tension without shifting during travel.

• Dual-hinge bridge folds down to a compact 4.4-inch width for pocket carry
• O-ring sealed nitrogen chambers eliminate internal lens fogging during alpine rain squalls
• Twist-up eyecups feature distinct mechanical click-stops to maintain stable eye relief
