Vortex 10×42 Razor HD Binoculars

Description

Spreading an unusually broad 6.9-degree actual angle, the Vortex 10×42 Razor HD Binoculars delivers a wide 362-foot field of view at 1000 yards. The 4.2mm exit pupil and 16.5mm eye relief provide comfortable viewing with spectacles. High ten-power magnification magnifies small hand tremors, making a two-handed grip necessary on windy ridgelines.

An apochromatic optical system pairs HD extra-low dispersion glass with phase-corrected BaK-4 roof prisms coated in dielectric mirror layers and XR Plus anti-reflection films. The open-bridge magnesium chassis is clad in green rubber armor, measuring 5.9 by 5.1 inches at 24.8 oz (703.1 g). Argon purged and waterproof, it features a central focus wheel tracking to 6 feet (1.8 m), a locking right-eye diopter, twist-up eyecups, and front tripod adapter threading.

Key Features of Vortex 10×42 Razor HD Binoculars

A flagship ten-power binocular designed for big game hunters and open-country observers who need wide situational awareness and chromatic control. The open-bridge magnesium chassis balances comfortably in hand, while dielectric prism coatings preserve brightness in shaded timber.

• 10x magnification with 42mm objective lenses yielding a 4.2mm exit pupil
• Phase-corrected BaK-4 roof prisms with high-reflectivity dielectric mirror layers
• Apochromatic (APO) optical system featuring HD extra-low dispersion glass
• Wide 362 ft field of view at 1000 yd (6.9-degree actual angle)
• 16.5mm eye relief paired with multi-position twist-up rubber eyecups
• Short 6-foot close focus distance suited for near-range trail observation
• Argon gas purged and O-ring sealed waterproof magnesium alloy chassis (24.8 oz)
• Locking right-eye diopter adjustment ring and front tripod adapter socket

APO Optical System & Dielectric Prism Layers

The apochromatic lens design uses HD glass elements to focus spectral wavelengths onto a single plane, virtually eliminating color fringing along bright timber edges. Dielectric prism coatings reflect over 99 percent of light across the visible spectrum, keeping shadow details legible during early dawn and late dusk hours.

Open-Bridge Magnesium Frame & Locking Hardware

The open-bridge layout allows fingers to wrap completely around the optical barrels, reducing hand fatigue during long glassing sessions. The central focus dial operates with smooth mechanical drag, while the locking right-eye diopter prevents accidental focal shifts when sliding the binocular into a chest harness.

• Smooth central focus wheel delivers backlash-free adjustment from 6 feet to infinity
• Locking right-eye diopter ring preserves custom focal calibration against pack contact
• ArmorTek scratch-resistant exterior coatings protect outer lenses from oil, dirt, and abrasion
