Vortex 12×50 Razor HD Binoculars

Description

Balancing twelve-power reach with light-gathering 50mm objectives, the Vortex 12×50 Razor HD Binoculars provides a 285-foot field of view at 1000 yards (5.4-degree actual). The 4.2mm exit pupil and 15.5mm eye relief yield sharp detail recognition. High 12x magnification magnifies hand vibrations, making a rested hold or tripod mount critical for fine evaluation.

An apochromatic optical system matches HD extra-low dispersion elements to phase-corrected BaK-4 roof prisms treated with dielectric mirror coatings and XR Plus anti-reflection films. The open-bridge magnesium chassis is clad in green rubber armor, measuring 6.8 by 5.1 inches at 28.7 oz (813.6 g). Argon purged and waterproof, it features a central focus wheel tracking to 10 feet (3 m), a locking right-eye diopter, and twist-up eyecups.

Key Features of Vortex 12×50 Razor HD Binoculars

Built for western big game hunters and open-country observers who need high-power resolving capability across vast sagebrush basins. The 50mm objective lenses gather critical light, while the open-bridge magnesium body keeps handhold stability high on cold mornings.

• High-power 12x magnification combined with 50mm light-gathering objective apertures
• Phase-corrected BaK-4 roof prisms with high-reflectivity dielectric mirror layers
• Apochromatic (APO) optical system with HD extra-low dispersion glass
• 285 ft field of view at 1000 yd (5.4-degree actual angle)
• 15.5mm eye relief with multi-position twist-up rubber eyecups
• 10-foot close focus distance suited for timber and trail scouting
• Argon gas purged and O-ring sealed waterproof magnesium alloy chassis (28.7 oz)
• Locking right-eye diopter adjustment ring and front tripod adapter socket

APO Optical System & Dielectric Coatings

The apochromatic lens design uses HD glass elements to focus spectral wavelengths onto a single plane, virtually eliminating color fringing along bright timber edges. Dielectric prism coatings reflect over 99 percent of light across the visible spectrum, keeping shadow details legible during early dawn and late dusk hours.

Open-Bridge Magnesium Body & Locking Hardware

The open-bridge layout allows fingers to wrap completely around the optical barrels, reducing hand fatigue during long glassing sessions. The central focus dial operates with smooth mechanical drag, while the locking right-eye diopter prevents accidental focal shifts when sliding the binocular into a chest harness.

• Smooth central focus wheel delivers backlash-free adjustment from 10 feet to infinity
• Locking right-eye diopter ring preserves custom focal calibration against pack contact
• ArmorTek scratch-resistant exterior coatings protect outer lenses from oil, dirt, and abrasion
