Vortex 18×56 Kaibab HD Binoculars

Description

Engineered for extreme western coues deer scouting, the Vortex 18×56 Kaibab HD Binoculars delivers a 194-foot field of view at 1000 yards (3.7-degree actual). The 3.1mm exit pupil and 16.4mm eye relief provide high resolving reach. At 43.5 ounces with 18x power, handheld viewing is impossible, making a rigid tripod mount strictly mandatory.

Apochromatic HD extra-low dispersion optical elements pair with phase-corrected BaK-4 roof prisms coated in dielectric reflective layers and XR Plus anti-reflection films. The magnesium alloy chassis is clad in green rubber armor, measuring 7.7 by 5.7 inches at 43.5 oz (1233.2 g). Argon purged and waterproof, it features a central focus wheel tracking to 19.8 feet (6.04 m), a locking right-eye diopter, twist-up eyecups, and front tripod adapter threading.

Key Features of Vortex 18×56 Kaibab HD Binoculars

A specialized long-range spotting optic designed for open-country western hunters who spend entire days glassing distant canyon basins. The massive 56mm objective lenses gather critical light, while the 18x magnification reveals subtle antler points at extreme distances.

• High-power 18x magnification paired with 56mm objective lenses producing a 3.1mm exit pupil
• Apochromatic (APO) optical system with HD extra-low dispersion glass
• Phase-corrected BaK-4 roof prisms treated with dielectric mirror coatings
• 194 ft field of view at 1000 yd with extreme long-range resolving reach
• 16.4mm eye relief with multi-stop twist-up rubber eyecups
• 19.8-foot close focus distance suited for distance observation platforms
• Argon gas purged and O-ring sealed waterproof magnesium alloy chassis (43.5 oz)
• Locking right-eye diopter adjustment ring and front tripod adapter threading

APO Optical System & Dielectric Coatings

The apochromatic lens design uses HD glass elements to focus spectral wavelengths onto a single plane, virtually eliminating color fringing along bright timber edges. Dielectric prism coatings reflect over 99 percent of light across the visible spectrum, keeping shadow details legible during early dawn and late dusk hours.

Magnesium Chassis & Tripod Stabilization

At 43.5 ounces with 18x power, handholding this optic reveals heavy heartbeat tremors; securing the binocular to a rigid tripod head yields vibration-free resolution. The central focus wheel operates with smooth mechanical drag, while the locking right-eye diopter prevents accidental focal shifts when sliding into a pack.

• Threaded front socket supports direct tripod adapter mounting for vibration-free glassing
• Argon gas purging prevents internal lens condensation during freezing mountain storms
• ArmorTek scratch-resistant exterior coatings protect outer lenses from oil, dirt, and abrasion
