Vortex 10×42 Razor UHD Binoculars

Description

Delivering an extraordinary 3.3-foot close focus, the Vortex 10×42 Razor UHD Binoculars spreads a 346-foot field of view at 1000 yards (6.6-degree actual). The 4.2mm exit pupil and 16.7mm eye relief provide comfortable viewing. At 32.2 ounces, the Abbe-König prism assembly adds noticeable forward weight compared to standard Schmidt-Pechan roof binoculars.

Matched index-corrected UHD glass elements pair with phase-corrected Abbe-König roof prisms treated with XR Plus fully multi-coated layers and ArmorTek scratch coatings. The magnesium alloy chassis is wrapped in textured green rubber armor, measuring 7 by 5.6 inches at 32.2 oz (913 g). Argon gas purged and waterproof, it incorporates a central focus wheel tracking down to 3.3 feet (1.01 m), a locking diopter, and twist-up eyecups.

Key Features of Vortex 10×42 Razor UHD Binoculars

Engineered for exacting birders and backcountry hunters who demand reference-grade resolution and macro close focus capability. The Abbe-König prisms eliminate internal reflective losses, while the 3.3-foot close focus allows intimate study of nearby insects and trailside flora.

• 10x magnification with 42mm objective lenses producing a 4.2mm exit pupil
• Total-reflecting Abbe-König roof prisms for maximized light transmission
• Matched index-corrected Ultra High Definition (UHD) optical glass elements
• 346 ft field of view at 1000 yd (6.6-degree actual angle)
• 16.7mm eye relief paired with multi-stop twist-up rubber eyecups
• Class-leading 3.3-foot (1.01 m) close focus distance for macro observation
• Argon gas purged and O-ring sealed waterproof magnesium frame (32.2 oz)
• Integrated locking right-eye diopter ring and front tripod adapter socket

UHD Glass Physics & Abbe-König Transmission

The Abbe-König prism geometry preserves optical throughput across the visible spectrum, delivering high contrast in shaded timber draws. Index-matched UHD glass suppresses secondary spectrum chromatic aberration, ensuring crisp feather and antler identification without color fringing across roughly 90 percent of the frame.

Magnesium Chassis & Macro-Focus Mechanics

The magnesium alloy chassis provides high torsional rigidity to maintain optical alignment through rough field use. The central focus dial operates with smooth, grease-damped friction, sweeping from macro distance out to infinity in a single fluid rotation without mechanical slop.

• Center focus wheel delivers fluid focal adjustments down to an exceptional 3.3 feet
• Argon gas purging prevents internal lens condensation during sudden mountain squalls
• Multi-position twist-up eyecups maintain firm spacing without collapsing under eye contact
