Isolate unstained bacterial suspensions and live blood cells with the Euromex iScope IS.1153-EPL-DF Darkfield Microscope upright biological station. Operating on a finite 160 mm optical track, it delivers 40x, 100x, 400x, and 1000x magnification via four E-Plan EPL objectives: 4x/0.10, 10x/0.25, spring-loaded 40x/0.65, and spring-loaded 100x/1.25 oil immersion. The sub-stage houses a specialized oil-immersion Cardioid darkfield condenser with an integrated 3W LED scattering ring module, casting steep high-angle rays that make transparent microorganisms glow brightly against a deep black background.
Transmitted brightfield illumination is handled by a separate 3W NeoLED lamp built into the base, regulated by an electronic dimmer wheel. An automated iCare motion sensor cuts power when you step away, preventing optical heating during long clinical shifts. The 30-degree inclined trinocular head features high-eyepoint EWF 10x/20 mm eyepieces and a vertical 23.2 mm photo port with a light path selector slider. Cardioid Oil Condenser & High-Contrast Scattering
Standard dry darkfield condensers fail at high magnification because light scatters directly into the front lens, destroying contrast. This system uses an optical oil interface on the Cardioid condenser to project a steep hollow light cone past NA 1.25. When examining native blood cells or bacterial cultures, oblique light rays scatter off refractive cell walls, rendering spirochetes, flagella, and colloidal particles as brilliant white objects on an ink-black field without chemical dyes.
Trinocular Image Capture & Motion-Sensing Electronics
Documenting live cellular motility requires real-time video capture. The vertical photo channel routes clean optical data to external digital C-mount cameras without disturbing your eyepiece view. The built-in iCare sensor saves electricity and protects delicate live mounts from ambient stage warming by shutting off the LED array after a few minutes of inactivity. Coaxial focus knobs move in 1.4-micron steps, giving technicians the fine control needed to slice through fluid layers.
