Description

Screen wastewater protozoa and clinical urine sediment on a finite 160 mm optical track using the Optika B-383PH Phase Contrast Microscope. It provides 100x, 200x, 400x, and 1000x magnification via four DIN Plan-Achromatic Phase objectives: 10x/0.25, 20x/0.40, spring-loaded 40x/0.65, and spring-loaded 100x/1.25 oil immersion. Flat-field optical correction keeps unstained amoebas, rotifers, and bacterial clusters sharp across the entire 20 mm field of view.

Its 216 x 150 mm double-layer mechanical stage features an enclosed belt-driven movement mechanism (78 x 54 mm XY travel), eliminating protruding gear racks for smooth, snag-free slide navigation. Transmitted illumination is supplied by an ultra-bright X-LED3 3.6W white LED system with custom collectors, focused through a rack-adjustable Abbe 1.25 NA phase condenser with slider plates. The 30-degree inclined trinocular head incorporates a vertical photo port with a selectable 100:0 visual / 0:100 camera split path, paired with widefield WF 10x/20 mm eyepieces across a 7.5 kg metal frame.

Key Features of Optika B-383PH Phase Contrast Microscope

A dependable finite 160 mm trinocular phase-contrast biological microscope featuring a belt-driven mechanical stage and DIN Plan optics. Combines four DIN Plan phase objectives with a 3.6W X-LED3 light engine, phase slider condenser, vertical camera channel, and coaxial 2-micron focus.

  • DIN Plan-Achromatic Phase objectives: 10x, 20x, spring-loaded 40x, and 100x oil immersion
  • Innovative belt-driven 216 x 150 mm mechanical stage eliminates protruding gear racks
  • Height-adjustable phase contrast condenser (NA 1.25) with interchangeable phase slider plates
  • Patented X-LED3 3.6W white LED illumination system matches a 50W halogen bulb in output
  • Dedicated vertical photo port channel with selectable 100:0 / 0:100 optical beam splitter
  • Widefield high-eyepoint WF 10x/20 mm eyepieces with 48 mm to 76 mm interpupillary adjustment
  • Coaxial coarse and fine focus drive with calibrated 2-micrometer (0.002 mm) graduations
  • Solid 7.5 kg cast-metal chassis provides complete vibration-free benchtop stability

Belt-Driven Mechanical Stage & DIN Plan Optics

The belt-driven stage design replaces exposed metal gear teeth with smooth internal belts, preventing clothing snags and wrist scratches during high-volume sample rounds. The DIN Plan phase objectives provide uniform flat-field sharpness, letting technicians identify filamentous bacteria and cellular casts without refocusing between center and margin. The spring-loaded 40x and 100x objectives protect slide wet mounts from accidental crushing.

Phase Contrast Sliders & Digital Video Output

Living protozoa and unstained bacteria in wastewater aeration basins are virtually transparent in standard brightfield light. The phase slider system shifts light wave paths to convert subtle thickness differences into high-contrast grayscale borders. The vertical photo channel routes clean optical data to external digital cameras, letting technicians record real-time video clips of living organisms for environmental compliance archives.

  • Belt-driven stage mechanism prevents hand injuries and gear wear over long shifts
  • Phase slider plates allow instantaneous toggling between phase contrast and brightfield
  • Vertical photo port allows simultaneous eyepiece viewing and digital documentation
