GPO USA 12.5×50 Passion HD Binocular (Black)

Description

Operating with 12.5x magnification, 50mm objective apertures, and a wide 283.5-foot field of view at 1000 yards, the GPO USA 12.5×50 Passion HD Binocular (Black) delivers high-definition long-range target resolution and generous light gathering for western big-game hunting and open-country scouting. Featuring a 5.4-degree actual angle of view, a wide 68-degree apparent field of view, a 4mm exit pupil, and 16.5mm of eye relief, this specialized roof prism instrument bridges the gap between traditional 10x optics and heavy 15x glass, allowing detailed antler evaluation and distant terrain scanning with hand-held agility.

The optical system features a Double HD laminated lens construction utilizing extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements laminated together to minimize internal reflection and chromatic fringing, paired with phase-corrected Schmidt-Pechan roof prisms treated with dielectric mirror coatings, GPObright fully multi-coated surfaces, and PASSIONdrop hydrophobic outer lens coatings. Built inside a rugged magnesium alloy chassis with an ergonomic micro-bridge design and black rubber armoring, the housing measures 17.5 by 13.5 by 6.4cm (6.9 x 5.3 x 2.5 inches) and weighs 965g. The optical barrels are nitrogen gas purged and O-ring sealed for 500-mbar waterproof and fogproof protection. Mechanical controls center on a smooth center-focus wheel with an integrated central locking diopter adjustment, a 9.8-foot (3m) close focus distance, solid aluminum twist-up click-stop eyecups, and an interpupillary distance range from 58mm to 76mm.

Key Features of GPO USA 12.5×50 Passion HD Binocular (Black)

Designed as the flagship optic in the Passion HD line, this 12.5×50 roof prism binocular combines Double HD laminated glass with dielectric-coated Schmidt-Pechan prisms. Its balanced magnesium micro-bridge design delivers 34% more field of view than standard 15x optics while remaining 30% lighter for steady hand-held operation. The nitrogen-sealed waterproof body, PASSIONdrop lens coatings, and aluminum eyecups provide all-weather reliability across rugged alpine terrain.

• 12.5x magnification power combined with 50mm objective lenses for high-resolving long-range scouting
• Phase-corrected Schmidt-Pechan roof prisms treated with high-reflectivity dielectric multi-layer coatings
• Double HD laminated extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements eliminating chromatic aberrations
• Linear field of view of 283.5 feet at 1000 yards (94.5m at 1000m) with 5.4-degree actual angle of view
• Comfortable 16.5mm eye relief and 4mm exit pupil with solid aluminum multi-stop twist-up eyecups
• Central focus wheel with an integrated central locking diopter dial and 9.8-foot (3m) close focus limit
• Airtight nitrogen-purged magnesium alloy chassis certified waterproof and immersion-sealed to 500 mbar
• PASSIONdrop hydrophobic and oleophobic protective coatings applied to external lens faces

Double HD Laminated Glass & GPObright Multi-Coatings

The Double HD laminated objective lenses bond individual extra-low dispersion optical elements into a single cohesive unit, reducing internal air-to-glass reflection boundaries and suppressing secondary chromatic aberration on high-contrast ridgelines. GPObright multi-coatings deliver daylight light transmission exceeding 91%, providing rich color saturation and high optical contrast when glassing shadowed coulees during dawn and dusk feeding hours. PASSIONdrop external lens coatings cause rain, morning dew, and dust to shed cleanly from exposed glass surfaces without leaving streaks.

Magnesium Micro-Bridge Chassis & Integrated Locking Diopter

The magnesium alloy chassis utilizes a compact micro-bridge design that maximizes grip area for gloved hands while keeping total mass balanced to minimize hand tremors at 12.5x magnification. Solid aluminum eyecup barrels turn with crisp click-stops to maintain correct eye relief for spectacle wearers without shifting under pressure. The central focusing barrel operates with fluid mechanical resistance, housing an integrated locking diopter adjustment that prevents unintentional setting drift when pulling the optic from a chest harness.

• Central focus wheel integrating a pull-out locking diopter mechanism with tactile detents
• Lightweight magnesium alloy chassis wrapped in durable textured black shock-absorbing armoring
• Machined aluminum twist-up eyecups with multiple click-stops for dependable eye relief positioning
