Barska 16×70 WP Encounter Jumbo Binoculars (Glossy Champagne)

Description

Installed on scenic overlook decks and dark-sky observing terraces in a glossy champagne finish, the Barska 16×70 WP Encounter Jumbo Binoculars (Glossy Champagne) deliver high-power stereoscopic resolving performance for celestial exploration and long-range terrestrial surveillance. Featuring 16x magnification paired with massive 70mm objective apertures, this Porro prism observation system produces a 147-foot linear field of view at 1000 yards (49m at 1000m), an actual angle of view of 2.8 degrees, a 4.4mm exit pupil, and comfortable viewing across deep-sky star clusters, lunar mountain ranges, and distant coastal horizons.

The optical configuration features precision-ground BaK-4 Porro prisms oriented at an ergonomic 45-degree viewing angle, combined with fully multi-coated optical glass elements that optimize photon transmission and color contrast. Constructed from a rigid all-metal aluminum alloy chassis finished in an all-weather glossy champagne enamel, the instrument weighs 3.9 kg (8.6 lbs). The internal barrels are dry nitrogen gas purged and O-ring sealed for waterproof and internal fogproof protection against adverse outdoor weather. Field adjustments utilize individual helical eyepiece focusing on each ocular, extendable metal sun shades that slide outward to block peripheral glare and dew, a removable rigid top carrying handle, a side yoke mounting interface, and a bottom mounting plate compatible with standard 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 tripod adapters.

Key Features of Barska 16×70 WP Encounter Jumbo Binoculars (Glossy Champagne)

Built for binocular astronomy and long-distance panoramic scouting, this 16×70 Jumbo observation binocular combines 45-degree angled oculars with large 70mm light collection. Its fully multi-coated lenses and BaK-4 Porro prisms deliver high image resolution across lunar craters and celestial targets. The nitrogen-filled waterproof all-metal body, extendable sun shades, and custom foam-lined hard case ensure durable field performance and safe transit across observation sites.

70mm Objective Lenses & 45-Degree BaK-4 Porro Prisms

The 70mm clear objective apertures gather extensive light volume compared to conventional hand-held optics, generating a 4.4mm exit pupil that renders faint emission nebulae and open star clusters with sharp clarity against dark sky backgrounds. BaK-4 Porro prisms positioned at a 45-degree viewing angle allow observers to study overhead celestial targets without experiencing cervical fatigue. Multi-layer anti-reflective coatings applied to each lens face suppress optical flare and ghosting, maintaining sharp contrast across high-contrast lunar limbs and distant landscape silhouettes.

All-Weather Aluminum Chassis & Dual-Mounting Versatility

The rigid aluminum alloy housing provides structural durability to protect internal optical alignments from mechanical shocks during setup and transportation. The dry nitrogen gas fill prevents internal lens condensation when transitioning between cold night air and indoor storage, while O-ring seals prevent moisture penetration. The instrument features both bottom tripod mounting sockets and side yoke attachment points to ensure balanced, vibration-free tracking on heavy-duty alt-azimuth mounts or video fluid heads.

• Individual helical eyepiece focusing mechanisms providing precise focal tuning on each barrel
• Nitrogen-purged all-metal waterproof chassis engineered for permanent or portable outdoor use
• Integrated dual-mount interface and removable top carry handle facilitating balanced tripod positioning
