Description
The Optika IM-5FLD Inverted Fluorescence Chassis provides multi-channel live-cell imaging and brightfield inspection across molecular genetics and pathology labs. Supplied as a modular inverted chassis without primary objectives, it allows researchers to install custom IOS LWD W-PLAN F or U-PLAN F semi-apochromatic fluorite lenses. It features dual illumination: a reflected 5W LED epi-fluorescence multi-wavelength hub alongside an 8W transmitted X-LED8 Köhler illuminator with field iris diaphragm, controlled by independent brightness dials.
Its 45-degree inclined viewing tubes carry extra-widefield high-eyepoint WF 10x/24 mm eyepieces, paired with a side-mounted camera port with a selectable 100:0 visual / 0:100 video beam splitter. The oversized 250 x 230 mm plane stage features side extension plates and mechanical guide rails delivering 120 x 78 mm of XY translation. Supported by a removable long-working-distance condenser (NA 0.55), quintuple nosepiece, and coaxial focus knobs with 1-micron fine division markings, this 14.0 kg composite frame (300 x 590 x 490 mm) operates on universal 100-240V AC power with an included fluorescence shield plate.
Key Features of Optika IM-5FLD Inverted Fluorescence Chassis
A modular research-grade inverted biological and epi-fluorescence microscope chassis featuring dual 5W/8W LED illumination and extra-wide 24 mm eyepieces. Combines an unequipped quintuple nosepiece with 1-micron fine focus, a 120 x 78 mm stage, side camera port, and a removable NA 0.55 condenser.

- Combined 14.0 kg structural frame mass isolates live cell cultures from benchtop vibration
Dual-Channel LED Illumination & Inverted Architecture
Inspecting living adherent cell cultures requires intense fluorescence excitation alongside gentle brightfield light. The 5W LED epi-fluorescence module delivers instant-on narrow-band illumination for GFP, FITC, and rhodamine markers without mercury burner warm-up times. The 8W transmitted X-LED8 system illuminates transparent cell monolayers with cool, daylight-balanced light through the NA 0.55 condenser, preventing thermal currents from drying out culture vessels.
Side Camera Port & 1-Micron Focus Mechanics
Placing the camera port on the side of the chassis keeps the overhead workspace completely open, making it easy to maneuver tall roller bottles, microinjection needles, and perfusion lines. The side video port routes 100% of light to external digital C-mount cameras, ensuring low-noise photo documentation of faint fluorophores. Coaxial focus knobs operate with 1-micron sensitivity, giving cell biologists delicate control to track mitotic division planes in live cultures.
- Modular frame allows customized lens selection for specific pathology and research protocols
- Side camera channel preserves overhead clearance for tall culture bottles and tools
- Instant-on LED excitation eliminates expensive replacement bulbs and mercury arc disposal
