Alpen Optics 8×56 Apex XP ED Waterproof Binoculars

Description

Engineered for deep-twilight tree stand hunting and nocturnal wildlife surveillance, the Alpen Optics 8×56 Apex XP ED Waterproof Binoculars deliver high optical brightness and resolving power under demanding low-light conditions. Combining 8x magnification with massive 56mm objective apertures, this roof prism field instrument produces a 305-foot linear field of view at 1000 yards (101.3m at 1000m), an actual angle of view of 5.8 degrees, an expansive 7mm exit pupil, and 17.5mm of eye relief for spotting cryptic game silhouettes in shadowed timber breaks.

The optical system features premium extra-low dispersion (ED) optical glass elements paired with BaK-4 roof prisms treated with PXA phase-correction coatings, HR metallic dielectric mirror layers, and UBX fully multi-coated surfaces on all air-to-glass boundaries. Built inside a durable closed-bridge housing fabricated from aluminum-magnesium alloy with metal focusing components and encased in textured non-slip black rubber armoring, the binocular weighs 1042g (36.8 oz). The optical barrels are dry nitrogen gas filled and O-ring sealed to IPX7 waterproof standards, withstanding rain, snow, and water immersion down to 1m depth. Mechanical controls include an all-metal central focus wheel with a 9.8-foot (3m) close focus distance, a right-eye diopter adjustment ring, multi-position twist-up rubber eyecups, and an integrated 1/4-20 threaded tripod adapter socket.

Key Features of Alpen Optics 8×56 Apex XP ED Waterproof Binoculars

Designed for hunters and naturalists operating during the critical twilight hours before sunrise and after sunset, this 8×56 roof prism binocular combines ED glass with high-reflectivity prism coatings. Its 7mm exit pupil matches the dilated human eye to maximize photon throughput in failing light. The nitrogen-filled IPX7 waterproof chassis, metal adjustment wheel, and UBX lens coatings provide dependable mechanical control and optical clarity across harsh outdoor environments.

• 8x magnification power paired with 56mm objective lenses producing a large 7mm exit pupil
• BaK-4 roof prisms treated with PXA phase-correction and HR metallic mirror coatings
• Premium extra-low dispersion (ED) optical glass elements eliminating chromatic color fringing
• Linear field of view of 305 feet at 1000 yards (101.3m at 1000m) with 5.8-degree actual angle
• Accommodating 17.5mm eye relief with multi-stop twist-up rubber eyecups for eyeglass wearers
• All-metal central focus wheel with a 9.8-foot (3m) close focus limit and right-eye diopter ring

PXA Phase-Coated Prisms & UBX Multi-Coated 56mm Lenses

The 56mm front objective elements utilize extra-low dispersion ED glass to minimize chromatic aberrations, preserving sharp edge contrast on high-contrast ridgelines. BaK-4 roof prisms treated with proprietary PXA phase coatings and HR metallic mirror depositions maximize photon transmission through the optical train, delivering high image brightness and color fidelity in dense forest shadows. UBX fully multi-coated optical surfaces eliminate surface glare and internal reflections, allowing observers to resolve subtle antler tines and camouflaged game in deep dusk.

IPX7 Waterproof Closed-Bridge Body & All-Metal Control Wheels

The closed-bridge aluminum-magnesium alloy chassis provides a solid platform that protects internal optical collimation from mechanical impacts. Textured rubber armoring cushions against field knocks and offers a secure hold in wet or freezing conditions. The all-metal central focusing wheel and metal eyepiece barrels rotate with positive mechanical resistance, allowing micro-fine focal adjustments with heavy gloves, while dry nitrogen gas purging prevents internal lens condensation during rapid thermal drops.

• All-metal central focus mechanism offering durable, precise focal control down to 9.8 feet
• Submersible IPX7 waterproof nitrogen-purged alloy frame built to resist extreme weather
• Multi-position twist-up eyecups maintaining repeatable eye relief and shielding from stray light
