Description
Supplying fast f/3.9 photographic speed for coma-corrected prime focus imaging, the TS Optics Photon N 154/600 OTA is a wide-field deep-sky newtonian astrograph optical tube assembly. Featuring an unobstructed light grasp across a 154mm (6.06 in) clear aperture and a 600mm focal length, this telescope delivers a 0.75 arcseconds theoretical resolving power and reaches magnitude 13.6, gathering photons efficiently for wide-field emission nebulae and faint deep-sky surveys.
The optical system features a fast parabolic primary mirror made from fused quartz glass, treated with enhanced aluminum coatings delivering 94% reflectivity with a protective SiO2 overcoat, combined with an oversized 70mm secondary mirror yielding a 45.5% central obstruction by diameter (20.7% by area). Housed in a rolled steel tube measuring 530mm in length with a 178mm outer diameter, the assembly provides 65mm of back focus above the 2-inch visual back, optimized for DSLRs and dedicated cooled astronomy cameras with coma correctors. Equipped with a 2-inch Monorail dual-speed linear bearing focuser, this 5.10 kg (11.24 lbs) optical tube illuminates a 44mm full-frame format when paired with optional coma correctors.
Key Features of TS Optics Photon N 154/600 OTA
Built for astrophotographers requiring high optical speed in a durable steel chassis, this 154mm f/3.9 Newtonian couples a fused quartz primary mirror with an oversized secondary mirror for sensor coverage. Its dual-speed Monorail focuser, rear primary mirror cooling fan, and 8×50 finderscope deliver a reliable platform for short-exposure imaging.

Fast f/3.9 Parabolic Mirror & 70mm Secondary Geometry
The parabolic fused quartz primary mirror eliminates chromatic aberration while providing thermal stability during extended imaging sessions. The oversized 70mm secondary flat mirror directs an unvignetted light cone toward modern large-format sensors, while an all-reflective design supports practical visual magnifications from 22.0x up to 308x.
Linear Rail Focus Mechanics & Primary Mirror Cooling
Carrying imaging equipment without drawtube tilt is delivered through a 2-inch Monorail linear bearing focuser with a 1:10 micro-reduction drive. An integrated rear cooling fan circulates ambient air across the primary mirror cell to accelerate thermal stabilization, while CNC split rings and a Vixen dovetail bar secure the 5.10 kg steel tube to equatorial mounts.
- 2-inch Monorail dual-speed linear bearing focuser with 1:10 micro-tuning to eliminate camera sag
- Rear-mounted primary mirror cooling fan for rapid thermal acclimatization before imaging runs
- Solid rolled steel tube construction providing high durability and stable optical collimation
