Description
Switching between two tracking modes, the Bresser AC 90/900 AZ-EQ Taurus Telescope pairs a 90mm achromat at f/10 with a genuinely convertible mount: start in simple alt-azimuth pan-and-tilt mode for terrestrial viewing, then switch to polar-aligned equatorial operation once you’re ready for tracked celestial sessions.
Most mounts in this catalog commit to one mode or the other. The Taurus AZ-EQ doesn’t — slow-motion cables work in either configuration, so a buyer can start simple and grow into equatorial tracking without buying a second mount later. The included 3x Barlow lens and smartphone camera adapter also add versatility that suits both terrestrial and astronomical use from day one.
Key Features of Bresser AC 90/900 AZ-EQ Taurus Telescope
A multi-functional AZ-EQ mount switches between alt-azimuth and equatorial configurations without needing separate hardware, a genuine rarity in this catalog.
- Convertible AZ-EQ mount switches between alt-azimuth and equatorial modes
- Slow-motion cables work smoothly in either mount configuration
- 3x Barlow lens triples magnification on either included eyepiece
- Smartphone camera adapter lets you shoot quick lunar photos through the eyepiece
- Controlled optical distortion comes from this tube’s f/10 achromatic design
- Two Kellner eyepieces included cover 45x through 225x
- Convertible design defers the alt-azimuth-versus-equatorial decision to a later date
Why Choose the Taurus AZ-EQ
Against the fixed-mode mounts elsewhere in this catalog, the Taurus AZ-EQ’s convertible design means a first-time buyer doesn’t have to choose upfront between simple terrestrial use and equatorial tracking — this mount grows with the observer as their interests develop.
Applications & Use Cases
Built for dual-purpose manual tracking, this telescope handles straight terrestrial pan-and-tilt use or polar-aligned equatorial operation for solar system targets for a buyer unsure of their long-term preference.
- First-time buyers unsure whether they’ll want equatorial tracking eventually
- Observers wanting one mount for both terrestrial and astronomical use
- Anyone who wants to defer the equatorial-versus-alt-azimuth decision
Bresser Warranty & Support
The Taurus 90/900 AZ-EQ carries a 2-Year Factory Warranty covering manufacturing defects, handled directly through Bresser’s support channel.
