Alpen Optics Shasta Ridge 20-60×80 Spotting Scope (Angled Viewing)

Description

Dependable weather-sealed optical performance arrives with the Alpen Shasta Ridge Spotting Scope platform, delivering an 80mm multi-coated objective, angled viewing housing, and an included 20-60x zoom eyepiece. Calibrated for western big-game hunters and target shooters, it provides sharp optical resolution across all magnifications. The 56-ounce chassis provides solid stability, though high-magnification viewing demands a sturdy tripod in ridgeline winds.

Constructed around a rigid composite chassis protected by shock-absorbing green rubber armor, the housing withstands rough outdoor use. The 80mm objective lenses feature multi-coated optical glass elements that push 86 percent light transmission while reducing surface reflections. Nitrogen gas purging delivers IPX7 submersible sealing down to 3 feet. Measuring 17.5 inches long, this Alpen Optics spotting scope platform delivers dependable performance across torrential backcountry weather fronts.

Key Features of Alpen Shasta Ridge

Order the Alpen Shasta Ridge precision rifle optics system to eliminate elevation holdover calculation delays on long shots. This proven optic combines crisp German optical purity with an accurate laser rangefinder core.

• 80mm objective lens captures abundant ambient light for twilight game observation
• 20-60x optical zoom eyepiece renders fine antler details across wide western landscapes
• Angled 45-degree viewing format enables comfortable group observation from diverse tripod heights
• CentricDrive wide center focus collar allows fluid focal adjustments with thick winter gloves

• Rubber-armored weather-resistant frame withstands rough vehicle transit across washboard roads
• Waterproof nitrogen-purged interior prevents internal glass fogging during sudden freezes

Optical Resolution Physical Performance Limits

The multi-coated optical glass elements deliver dependable color fidelity and contrast across target borders. Light transmission reaches 86 percent, providing bright contrast during dim sunset glassing sessions. Operating across 14°F to 122°F, the mechanical focusing drive maintains fluid resistance without backlash. Internal shock proofing shields sensitive prism mountings against jarring vehicle transport.

Chassis Placement Tripod Mounting Parameters

The machined mounting foot fits standard 1/4-20 tripod adapter plates for rock-solid stability during extended glassing sessions. The angled barrel layout allows intuitive target tracking from diverse chair heights. The rotating mounting collar locks firmly with a knurled thumbscrew for lateral canting.

Field Operation Usability Filter Guidelines

The wide central focus collar allows coarse focal sweeps with light touch, adjusting easily with gloved hands. The captive zoom ocular collar rotates with firm mechanical friction. This full-sized 80mm observation optic is not engineered for mobile mountain backpack hunting where ultralight 50mm compact scopes rule pack weight.

• Clean objective and ocular glass surfaces with optical solution and micro-cloths after each hunt
• Clean the rubber armor body with fresh water following exposure to caustic mud
• Store the scope module within its padded nylon carry case between outdoor excursions
