Osprey Global Elite Series 4-40x56FFP Riflescope

Description

During freezing dawn PRS match stages the Osprey Global Elite Series Riflescope with 4-40x magnification resolves extreme target details cleanly. Configured with a 35mm tube, 1/8 MOA clicks, and 100 MOA elevation travel, this ELR optic features first focal plane glass. The massive 40x magnification brings mile-away targets into sharp view, though heat mirage can disrupt target resolution at full zoom.

Milled from single-piece 6061-T6 structural aluminum, the heavy 35mm monotube prevents flex under heavy recoil cycles. Fully multi-coated European glass lenses provide high light transmission with edge-to-edge optical resolution. Measuring 16.5 inches and weighing 41.2 ounces, this Osprey Global tactical scope features nitrogen gas purging that meets rigorous waterproof immersion standards.

Key Features of Osprey Global Elite 4-40×56

Extreme distance shooters buy Osprey Global Elite riflescope systems to dial precise bullet drops on ELR steel targets past one mile. The massive 40x magnification brings subtle target details into sharp visual focus.

• 35mm aircraft aluminum monotube delivers 100 MOA total elevation adjustment
• 4-40x magnification range resolves tiny target details beyond 1500 yards cleanly
• 56mm objective lens generates high optical clarity during late dusk twilight
• 1/8 MOA exposed lockable turrets provide positive audible click detents on each movement
• Elite Series illuminated etched reticle delivers accurate holdover marks at every power
• First focal plane etched glass ensures valid measurements across all magnifications
• Side-focus parallax knob dials parallax out from 10 yards to infinity
• Push-pull locking turret mechanism prevents accidental displacement during transit

Extreme Range Erector

Built with robust dual coil leaf springs, the internal erector cell retains zero repeatability within 1 percent across the 100 MOA elevation range. Designed to withstand 1000G recoil forces, this Osprey Global scope handles continuous .338 Lapua Magnum strings without reticle movement. The erector cell maintains precise zero settings between -20°F and 140°F, preventing tracking deviations during harsh winter matches.

Receiver Rail Alignment

With 6.0 inches of ring mounting space, this optic mounts onto heavy tactical chassis rails without clearance issues. Torque 35mm ring cap screws to 18 in-lbs, and tighten rail cross-bolts to 45 in-lbs. The 3.6-inch eye relief protects shooters against heavy magnum movement, while the 56mm objective bell mandates high mounting rings to clear heavy target barrels.

Field Match Dynamics

The magnification ring turns with firm 12 in-lbs torque to maintain set power levels when moving through barricade ports. This heavy optical unit is not designed for lightweight backcountry sheep hunts where ounces matter, nor for close-quarters platforms where 4x zoom limits rapid target acquisition.

• Clean objective elements using lens-cleaning pens and canned air every 200 rounds
• Check 35mm ring screw torque using a precision inch-pound driver every 500 rounds
• Clean zero-stop threads and inspect turret rubber O-rings every 12 months
