Meopta MeoStar R2 8×56 Riflescope (4K Reticle)

Description

Severe erector grease freeze stops with Meopta MeoStar R2 8×56 Riflescope optics built for extreme low-light stand hunting. Utilizing a 30mm tube, 1/4 MOA clicks, and 50 MOA elevation travel, this European optic incorporates an illuminated 4K reticle. The massive 56mm objective yields a 7mm exit pupil, though fixed 8x magnification restricts close-range snap shooting inside 30 yards.

Constructed around a solid 30mm monotube milled from 6061-T6 structural aluminum, the chassis withstands severe recoil on heavy magnum calibers. High-definition European glass uses MeoLux multi-coatings to reach 95 percent light transmission for astonishing visibility during legal twilight. Measuring 13.9 inches overall, weighing 23.3 ounces, and sealed with nitrogen gas, this Meopta low-light scope satisfies IPX7 waterproof submersion standards.

Key Features of Meopta MeoStar R2

Trophy hunters buy Meopta MeoStar R2 riflescope models to harvest game during the final moments of evening legal light. The oversized optical train channels ambient twilight photons to reveal subtle antler details in dark clearings.

• 30mm aircraft aluminum monotube provides 50 MOA total internal elevation adjustment
• 8x fixed magnification delivers razor-sharp optical performance with zero moving cell play
• 56mm objective lens generates an exceptional 7mm exit pupil for extreme low light
• 1/4 MOA capped turrets prevent accidental movement while moving into tree stands
• MeoStar R2 8×56 Riflescope 4K illuminated reticle isolates vital zones at dusk
• Second focal plane etched reticle keeps crosshairs fine against target backgrounds
• MeoLux proprietary lens coatings achieve class-leading 95 percent light transmission
• MeoDrop hydrophobic lens coatings repel moisture, dirt, and morning frost

Thermal Erector Stability

The mechanical erector assembly uses dual heavy steel springs to guarantee zero repeatability within 1 percent across the 50 MOA travel range. Rated for 1000G shock loads, this MeoStar R2 mechanism withstands .300 Win Mag recoil impulses without zero shifting. Internal mechanical cells remain functionally stable from -20°F to 140°F, preventing grease migration or reticle drift.

Chassis Ring Placement

The 5.8-inch center tube section accommodates standard two-piece bases or one-piece Picatinny rings on hunting rifles. Maintain ring cap screw torque between 15 and 18 in-lbs, and tighten cross-bolts to 40 in-lbs. The optic provides 3.94 inches of eye relief, while the large 62mm outer objective bell requires high mounting rings.

Hunting Field Function

Smooth diopter adjustment collars allow swift focus tuning, while the rotary illumination dial offers eight brightness steps with off positions between each notch. This 8x fixed-power optic is not suited for dense brush hunting on driven boar, nor for short-range tactical shotguns.

• Clear debris from external objective lenses using optical lens brushes each hunt
• Verify scope mount base screw tightness on rifle actions every 250 rounds
• Replace illumination coin cell batteries before winter hunting seasons every 12 months
