Snypex 10×42 Knight ED Binoculars

Description

Built with an open-bridge magnesium frame, the Snypex 10×42 Knight ED Binoculars provides a 351-foot field of view at 1000 yards (6.7-degree actual). The 4.2mm exit pupil and 17.5mm eye relief maintain sharp mid-day viewing. Pushing ten-power magnification across a broad 6.7-degree field introduces minor softness along the outer ten percent of the image circle.

Apochromatic extra-low dispersion (ED) front lenses feed phase-corrected BaK-4 roof prisms treated with dielectric mirror stacks and fully multi-coated surfaces. The open-bridge magnesium alloy chassis is clad in ribbed black rubber, measuring 5.1 by 5.2 by 2 inches and weighing 26.8 oz (759.8 g). Nitrogen filled and submersible to 1 meter, it houses a knurled center focus wheel tracking down to 5.6 feet (1.71 m), a right-eye diopter adjuster, and multi-position twist-up eyecups.

Key Features of Snypex 10×42 Knight ED Binoculars

Built for birders and big game hunters who demand high resolution and chromatic aberration control in a lightweight package. The open-bridge construction allows your fingers to wrap completely around the optical barrels for steady single-handed glassing.

• 10x magnification with 42mm objective lenses producing a 4.2mm exit pupil
• Phase-corrected BaK-4 roof prisms with high-reflectivity dielectric mirror coatings
• Apochromatic extra-low dispersion (ED) objective optical glass elements
• 351 ft field of view at 1000 yd (6.7-degree actual angle)
• 17.5mm eye relief with multi-stop twist-up rubber eyecups
• Short 5.6-foot close focus distance suited for near-range butterfly observation
• Submersible waterproof and nitrogen-purged magnesium alloy chassis
• Open-bridge dual-hinge body weighing 26.8 oz with front tripod threading

Apochromatic ED Glass & Dielectric Coatings

The apochromatic optical design utilizes ED objective glass to eliminate color fringing on high-contrast edges like tree limbs against bright overcast skies. Dielectric prism coatings ensure high light throughput across the visible spectrum, yielding clean color neutrality and sharp target separation during early morning feeding periods.

Open-Bridge Ergonomics & Submersion Tolerances

The twin-bridge layout reduces hand fatigue by providing an ergonomic wrap-around hold, keeping views steady when glassing one-handed while navigating brush. The knurled central focus dial operates smoothly without dead spots, and the magnesium chassis withstands water immersion down to 1 meter for 15 minutes.

• Knurled center focus wheel delivers smooth, backlash-free adjustment in cold weather
• Nitrogen gas purging prevents internal lens condensation during sudden temperature shifts
• Multi-position twist-up eyecups hold their setting firmly without accidental collapse
